my monitor went out but you can still see shadows. ordered an inverter put it in and nothing happened. Is buying a monitor or another computer my only options.HP wants as much to fix it as I can practically buy a new laptop for/ HELP!

Cynthia, did you ever get your laptop fixed? I'm having the same issues with mine, too.

not yet but I have determined I need to replace the backlight board. found one brand new for less than 100.00. I have instructions on how to do it. go to inside my laptop.com for instructions. I wathed mine being taken apart 3 times now so im pretty sure I can do myself

My partner and I took my laptop lid apart last night and my problem is the wires (backlight) that go into the connection to the inverter are not making a good connection. I hope your repairs go well. Good luck with it. :)
